Malibu Molly

In the old van Reggie had a small seat to sit on alongside the bench seats when they were converted into the bed. In the new van we have a fixed bead at the back and he doesn't get to sleep next to us.  So he comes along and whines and whinges for a while until he goes back to his bed and sleeps. He also likes to go out for his toilet breaks in the middle of the night where at home he sleeps until we get up and let him out.   So our day started firstly at 4.10am and then again at 7.10am.  Firstly loo time and then breakfast time!  We went back to bed and didn't wake up until after 9.30am!  Once breakfasted and glad that the heating and the water hadn't come up with any new errors, we packed away the electric hookup cable and left the site for a shorter day than anticipated visiting firstly Aldeburgh, where we haven't been before, and then to Snape Maltings as Claire wanted to look for a birthday present for hr BFF. A few changes to the plan, such as it was. Friday we will stop off at Snape Maltings where he been quite a few times as Claire had a friend's birthday coming up. There are loads of craft shops there. We'll park up and I'll get the Nikon out to take a few photos, or maybe the Canon 1100D.   Snape Maltings last time we were there... To save a few quid we'll take a packed lunch and I can turn the gas on to make coffee etc.  The hob can cool as we have a walk around. Then we'll go to to the Waterpump CL and settle in for the night.  It would be nice to have a walk to the pub for a drink though... How much walking about we do is dependent on the weather! Saturday the plan is to drive over to Aldeburgh and see what the parking situation is like. There seems to be one car park that can accommodate a 6m van. Another has a limit of 5.5m!  There is some free parking further down the road the we could look at. Then maybe a short drive up to Southwold?  Who knows at th...

The last day. Reggie was up early for his loo break and then his breakfast. He had worked out that this new van has a different layout and his bed is under the table next to the warm air vents and not on the bed with us.  We had no plan today other than to drive home.  With the rain starting to ease we could see that the water has receded quite a bit in the meadow at the front of the pitches. Once the chores had been completed we packed up and left.  At the last minute we decided to go to Walberswick or Southwold on the coast.  At the top of the drive we should have turned right.  I turned left. My fault as I had a memory of a pretty awful journey on very narrow lanes coming from that direction once before from Walberswick!  Another added inconvenience was that right in front of us and moving left to right was a big tractor hedge cutting.  What followed was a magical mystery tour of Suffolk in a huge loop with many right turns ...
