Sissinghurst Castle Garden

Today we got Molly out of storage and set off for Sissinghurst for a walk around the grounds and of course a coffee!

This time as we were in the storage yard we left the car in our space, and left from there rather than home.

This meant we went a different way through New Romney. The route that TomTom planned came a cropper as the road at Brenzett was closed and we ended up going a long way around the block. We decided that coming back we'd go our usual route through Ashford and the M20.

At the Castle, there were no volunteers manning (personing?) the gate and so there were cars filling up the coach parking. There was a VW camper in the second part where campervans and motorhomes park up. I parked there.

Molly has the sliding habitation door on the right and so parking on the end of the parking area with the left on the road side was okay. Luckily I retracted the step...

Our first stop of course was coffee!

We took our own brownie from Aldi.

Usually we sit outside but as it's January 25th we sat inside. Dogs are allowed inside the Old Dairy cafe. In the main restaurant only service dogs can go inside.

Then off we went. Claire went into the garden, again only service dogs, to look at the special dried flower arrangements around the doors?

I walked around the outside. With so many smells Reggie took so long that she was out again before we got that far.

We had a walk around the outside and then around the lake. It's a bit muddy in places.

A quick trip around the shop where Reggie blagged some biscuit treats,  and we were back at the van.

LPG on and Claire boiled a kettle and had a mugshot for her lunch. Then once the hob had cooled, gas off, then we were off.

On the way home we decided to keep the van out a little longer and try to get away in the week and try a pub stop. So we still had to go to the storage to get the car.
