Autumn 2025!
I haven't made all that much progress with "Summer 2025" yet other than a channel crossing booked and one campsite for the first night booked.
My attention has turned to Autumn. October to be a little more precise. We have been invited to a special event early in the month in France and I have begun to look at the feasibility of going and including it into the holiday we normally have for our wedding anniversary.
I can't say much about the event itself until later in the year but the wedding anniversary will be our 25th - Silver Wedding!
So, I have been looking at combining the two events and incorporating them into a trip to France and Spain. I have been looking on RCI (rci.com) to use the "banked" apartment and seeing if there are other options to Alcossebre.
We have done Kione Playa Romana twice before, lastly in October 2024. It was a good week and meant we didn't have to travel all that far once there and could have a bit of R&R. The problem is with Reggie we are restricted to how many places we can actually stay at.
Many of the places that accept pets look like huge apartment block style buildings. At Alcossebre the place isn't that big and each building is only two floors. It's not that far to walk into town where there are plenty of bars and restaurants open in October. With a smaller van, parking will be easier than the 7m van we had last time.
We have looked at the options with the France event fixed in the diary. Option 1. Go across in the week before it, spend a couple of days travelling down and then stay in sites in Spain afterwards and then the apartment or Option 2, go to Alcossebre and then on the way up stop at the event, then head home.
After writing it down on paper, we decided that Option 1 would be the better fit of the two choices. On RCI they have a choice of apartments in October whereas in late September there's only one! So I have booked for the week in October. It's the same week as 2024. Once that was through and the confirmation arrived and was saved in my Yahoo mail folder (and printed!) I dropped an email to Kione letting them know we will be staying again with the dog. I doubt I'll hear back for a few days. I hadn't deleted last year's email and simply opened it and replied. Whoever opens it can see the historical email exchange!
Now I can turn my attention to the week between the France event and the following Saturday in Alcossebre. Maybe a nice site to do nothing. Ideally somewhere where we can let Reggie have a walk on the beach if possible. Not forgetting the June trip of course!!!
We saw some of the vloggers we follow on YouTube stayed at a site near Roses and that looked ideal for a few nights and I think the beach was accessible to dogs. I need to go back through their channel to see where it was.
As it is our Silver Wedding Anniversary I'd like to be set up somewhere nice and not in an aire or bit of wasteland like so many "vanlifers".
