Summer 2025 - Annecy
I have allowed three nights on the "Alsace Tour" section of the trip. This should take us from Bühl in the Black Forest across into France and through Alsace and along the Route des Crêtes to around the north of Mulhouse.
I have a few places bookmarked on the France Passion system to overnight. All the places are self-sufficient and so in Bühl we will need to do the housekeeping jobs and fill the fresh water tank. We do tend to carry a five litre spring water bottle with us for drinking water, although when it's emptied we can fill it with fresh water from the tap on the aire.
I've not booked the Bühl Camping-Car Park aire yet. They have changed the app and website and it's all bug ridden! Nearer the time. There are one or two other aires in France that could maybe do the same overnight!
So to Annecy. It's a place we have planned to visit in the past and never have done. Always something else came up and we did that instead. Usually Spain!
Mulhouse to Annecy? Google maps has it at about 220 miles so that would be doable in one day. I might cut that down by staying the night before on the way though. Then we can arrive earlier and get the benefit of the arrival day.
So I have booked a Sandaya site called La Nublière. I tried to book the "free" night we had earned last year when we stayed at a few different Sandaya sites. It does say we have 140 loyalty points but I couldn't find out how get the free one!
In the end I had a look on the ACSI website and I could book directly through them . The four nights in low season with Reggie costing £5 a night (!) comes out at £106. Approximately £26.50 a night at the current exchange rate. I have paid the deposit.
Where after that? I have no idea. Continuing working our way south? Route Napoléon? Looking for some coast?
I am sure I'll find something.
